Pantun Playground: Fostering Nature Appreciation and Life Lessons for Children in “Rimba Pantun”

Open access
The "Rimba Pantun" project presents a unique initiative aimed at fostering children's appreciation for nature and imparting valuable life advice through poetry. Drawing inspiration from the rich tradition of pantun poetry, particularly in Southeast Asian cultures, the application seeks to engage young audiences in an immersive and educational experience that celebrates the beauty of the natural world while imparting timeless wisdom. The primary objective of the "Rimba Pantun" application is to provide children with a platform for discovering, reading, and creating poetry that encourages them to connect with nature and reflect on important life lessons. Through an extensive collection of curated poems, ranging from descriptive verses about flora and fauna to insightful reflections on friendship, resilience, and kindness, the application aims to stimulate children's imagination and curiosity while instilling positive values and ethics. The poetry repository is meticulously curated to ensure diversity in themes, styles, and cultural influences, catering to the varied interests and backgrounds of young users. In addition to serving as a digital library of children's poetry, the "Rimba Pantun" application offers interactive features that enhance user engagement and creativity. Users can explore thematic collections, search for specific poems, and even contribute their own original compositions to the repository. The "Rimba Pantun" project represents a digital approach to leveraging technology for educational and cultural enrichment among children. By combining the timeless art of poetry with modern digital tools, the research aims to inspire a new generation of nature lovers, creative thinkers, and morally conscious individuals who are equipped to navigate life's challenges with wisdom and compassion.
