The current study focused on the adoption and the effect of gamification in the higher education institutes of Jordan. It focuses on the need of the education system to adopt the modern learning environments incorporating gamification. This paper is based on the existing literature about gamification and its implementation in the higher education institutions. The findings revealed that gamification helps in motivating the students to learn in a more fun and interesting environment. The Jordanian education institutes must follow implementation of gamification to enhance the learning experience of the students and to increase their motivation to work alone as well as in groups through provision of an interactive learning environment by gamifcation.
