Anomie has become an important concern in higher education because of its associations with students’ psychological well-being, social integration, and moral development. However, existing research remains fragmented across related constructs such as alienation, cynicism, deviance, and value conflict. This study systematically identifies and synthesizes the dimensions of anomie among university students from a value-oriented perspective. A systematic literature review was conducted following the PRISMA framework. Studies were retrieved from Scopus, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and ERIC, with 33 studies included in the final thematic synthesis. The findings identify four core dimensions of anomie: meaninglessness and distrust, powerlessness, moral decline, and fetishism of money. These dimensions are associated with structural instability, alienation, social cynicism, weakened moral regulation, and value conflict. The synthesis further indicates that anomie reflects not only social and institutional conditions but also individual value disorientation. Self-enhancing values appear to contribute to anomie, whereas socially oriented values may mitigate its manifestations. By integrating fragmented findings into a value-oriented multidimensional framework, this study contributes to understanding anomie among university students and offers implications for strengthening meaning, moral commitment, and value development in higher education.
