Navigating the Nexus: A Multidimensional Analysis of Generation Y Organizational Commitment in the Malaysian Context

Generation Y (Gen Y), often referred to as Millennials, constitutes a significant and growing portion of the global workforce, including in Malaysia. Understanding their organizational commitment is crucial for Malaysian organizations aiming to attract, retain, and maximize the potential of this demographic. This research article provides a comprehensive overview of Generation Y's organizational commitment in the Malaysian context, drawing on recent academic literature. It explores key factors influencing their commitment, including work-life balance, leadership styles, training and development opportunities, organizational culture, and job satisfaction. The article discusses the challenges and opportunities associated with fostering commitment among Gen Y employees and offers practical implications for human resource practitioners and organizational leaders in Malaysia.
