This study explores the factors influencing adolescent identity formation, focusing on the roles of social influence, hedonic motivation, preservation of religion, and perception. Using multiple regression analysis, the research examines how these variables collectively impact adolescent identity status. The findings indicate that social influence, hedonic motivation, and preservation of religion significantly contribute to identity development, while perception was found to have a minimal direct impact. Social influence emerged as the strongest predictor, highlighting the importance of peer relationships, family dynamics, and societal norms in shaping an adolescent's sense of self. Hedonic motivation, driven by the desire for pleasure and new experiences, also played a meaningful role, influencing adolescents' behavior and self-exploration. Preservation of religion was found to be a crucial factor, particularly in guiding adolescents’ moral values and decision-making. Perception, although relevant, did not significantly predict identity status in this study, suggesting that other external factors are more influential. The study underscores the importance of understanding the complex interplay between social, motivational, and value-based influences in adolescent identity development, offering insights for educators, parents, and policymakers to support adolescents during this critical stage of their lives.
