The View of University Students on International Exchange Programs - A Case Study of Nanchang University in China

Open access
In the context of contemporary globalization, this research investigates the perspectives of university students participating in foreign exchange programs. The study examines how international interchange and globalization have affected the outlooks and experiences of students at Nanchang University in China. Students' perspectives on international exchange were studied in depth using surveys, experiments, and discussions. The results illustrate the various advantages of international interaction, such as the development of useful skills and the exposure to new points of view. Problems with communication and adjusting to a new culture were recognized but viewed as possibilities in disguise. There was clear evidence of globalization's effect in molding students' perspectives, as it promoted pedagogical variety, international partnerships, and individual growth. Social, cultural, economic, and political obstacles were also investigated. Students' experiences during international exchange are what cause psychological, belief-oriented, and behavioral changes, as explained by the transformative learning paradigm. The study methodology combined an explanatory design with a deductive strategy to provide evidence-based conclusions. In conclusion, this research provides a deeper comprehension of students' perspectives, illuminating the mutually beneficial interaction between international exchange and globalization in molding students' educational paths.
