The present study aims to record the believes and views of primary school directors of Pella’s Regional Unit on stress. In particular, through this study, an attempt is made to conceptualize ‘stress’, to identify the reasons of causing it and which perhaps influence the directors’ actions, to determine its effects that cause possible physical or psychological symptoms and to record various techniques of dealing with stress from the part of the directors. In order to achieve the abovementioned objectives, semi-structured interviews were used as a basic instrument which conducted with twelve primary school directors during the school year 2017-2018. The results of the study revealed that work-related stress exists among the school directors and determines to a large extent the routes they have to follow in order to meet the requirements of the tasks they undertake. Moreover, a variety of reasons that cause stress have been recorded, which are related to the individual characteristics of each director. Finally, different modes of managing stress from the part of the directors have been identified, which helped them to manage everything in the workplace but also to accomplish the tasks in relation to their role.
