School Evaluation for Quality Enhancement in Education: An Overview

In many countries, there is a broad recognition that evaluation framework is an important factor for creating stronger school organizations and systems. Since the 1980s, there has been a shift in focus from preplanning to testing and assessing effects. It is also pointed out that evaluation is not an end in itself, but rather as a means to achieve better student outcomes, as the challenge for modern education systems is achieving excellence for student population and school organizations The current study seeks to investigate aspects of evaluation concerning the theoretical framework regarding the quality and the evaluation of school organizations, the dimensions and the quality fields in which evaluation can focus on, the methodology and the evaluation techniques, as well as the dissemination of evaluation results and good practices which is indispensable necessity in terms of improving the quality of school organizations.
